Footstools vs Gummybears

(22nd March)

Score: 3-6

Goalscorers: Dorian (1), Sarah (2)

This is the first match we were behind and felt pressured. Communication was on off throughout the game.

First half the score was 1-5. We broke out early scoring the first goal making it 1-1. Then we lost the tempo and realized that this team wasn't like the other teams we are used to playing.

We felt pressured and weren't able to adapt to the change properly. Took us probably more that 20 mins for us to switch on.

Even though there are negatives to the match, the plays that we're made throughout the match has improved. We need to apply pressure to the ball and be aware of where our teammates are and communicate.

Defenders needed to talk more as to who would do the run and who would come back. Attackers need to come to the ball rather than the ball come to them.

Second half the score was 2-1. We came back and we had that tempo that we wanted to win, this is what we lacked in the first half.

We adapted to the changes of the game and amended it to suit our play. We drew our defenders and created an open man.

As a team we tried to incorporate the "pass and move" tactic that we learnt in training. We slowly brought it in. But defenders need to communicate more as to who was going to move up and who was going to sweep back.

Overall it was an alright game, wasn't the best that we had played but it was our first lost and we took important pointers out of it. And are ready to prepare for our next match next Thursday.
